About Tracebud AS
Tracebud AS — farmer-first field data for program data readiness
Collect once at the farm, then mould the same records to the regulations, certifications, and programs that ask for them.

Why I started Tracebud
I started Tracebud because farm evidence is still too expensive and fragmented. Too many smallholders stay shut out of better markets and support, while coffee and cocoa producers often live below the poverty line and capture only a thin slice of the chain’s value. I wanted to change that.
Compliance, certification and origin programmes usually need the same farm facts, yet run as separate, consultant-heavy projects. That makes it hard for small and medium organisations along the agri-food chain to start themselves.
If smallholders stay connected to every actor in the chain, support can flow back and practices can improve. But the digital infrastructure for that did not really exist.
I come from farming families on both sides: my mother’s in France and my father’s in Canada. After a master’s in business, Cambridge sustainability training, and earlier work on biodiversity monitoring, I founded Tracebud in Oslo to improve smallholder livelihoods and make land more resilient.
In practice, that means self-serve infrastructure for the agri-food chain: capture once at origin (including offline), then reuse the same records through cooperatives, facilities, exporters, importers, brands and agencies. Chain of custody keeps lots linked to contributing plots; cascading requests ask each link only for what is missing. We ship EUDR evidence paths first in open beta; other programmes can mould from that same spine with co-build partners.
Who we are
Tracebud AS is a Norwegian company based in Oslo. We build farmer-first field data collection so origin evidence becomes program data readiness.

What we do
We start at the plot — not at the buyer dashboard.
- 01
Field-first capture
Offline plot mapping, consent, and cascading network requests.
- 02
Reusable compliance records
Evidence that can travel without rebuilding the file for every buyer.
- 03
Program data readiness
Programme data readiness on one spine: EUDR is the live path (open beta). The same collection is designed to mould toward CSDDD and adjacent regulations, certifications (Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, organic, and similar), and programs (regenerative agriculture, sustainable / living income, MEL) with co-build partners — not as shipped live modules for every programme today.
Coffee and cocoa first-mile are our starting focus. The infrastructure is multi-commodity capable.
What we are not
- Not a satellite-only deforestation map product
- Not a public polygon scrape of farms
- Not buyer-dashboard-first software that reaches farmers last
- Farmer data is shared only with consent; cascading requests ask each link for its own part
Products
Field app
For farmers and field agents: map plots offline, attach evidence, keep consent with the record.
Dashboard
For cooperatives, facilities, exporters, importers, brands and agencies: network requests, screening exceptions, sealing shipments and filings from the same shared layer.
EUDR evidence paths are what we ship against first (open beta on the public site). CSDDD, Scope 3, carbon, regen, living income, human rights, and certification scheme packs are designed for / co-build on that spine — not live product modules until a programme ships with partners.
